Show HUNTERS MAY ASSIST IN SOWING GRASS ON HUNTING AREAS Sportsmen throughout Utah county who hunt deer on the Uintah Uin-tah National forest this season may render an important service in forest conservation under a unique plan outlined by L. C. Guy-mon, Guy-mon, secretary -treasurer of the county wildlife federation, and chairman of the big game committee commit-tee of Provo Wildlife Federation. Arrangements have been made with Ivan Sack, Uintah forest- supervisor, sup-ervisor, to obtain grass seed for planting on public lands within the forest by the deer hunters. "The small quantity of seed to be distributed by each hunter will require but a few minutes and can be done while hunting," he stated. "By getting seed distributed over the denuded areas, a greater food supply for big game animals eventually will result." Sportsmen interested in cooperating cooper-ating in the program should obtain ob-tain the grass seed at the forest supervisor's office in the Federal building, First North and First West, Provo. When calling for the seed, they should bring a small cloth bag, Mr. Guymon stated. The project is sponsored by the Provo federation in cooperation with the forest service. |
