Show Page Twelve The Springville (Utah) Herald r Boy Scout Benefit BasketbalKjames5at Red Devils Play M Men Seconds In Opening Game; Legion Team To Play All-Stake M Men All Proceeds Will Go To Boy Scouts For Assisting In Building Permanent Home In Kelley's; Kiwanis Sponsor Games , Hie official end of the 1947-48 basketball season will be marked in Springville this Saturday night, March 20, with two benefit basketball games between the All-Stake M-Men and the American Legion,s j will be Kent Miner, Dick Wilkins, Erwin Haws, Blaine Johnson, Grant Richins, Martin Reed, Owen Sumsion, Merlin Fox and Joe Cranmer. . Coach Hughes has coached practically all of these boys through their high school years. In the final game of the evening, eve-ning, Coach Guy Brown's Legion team will be composed of the same club that participated in the district dis-trict games: James, Jarvis, Miller, Mill-er, Nielsen, Cameron, Stone, Hansen, Han-sen, Bennett and Mower. These stars will match baskets with the All-Stake M-Men: Cecil Stanger, Ray Clark, Ray Black, Glen Clark, Blair Sargent, Jack Jones, Lynn Bjarnson, Ardeen Childs, Lentz Crandall and Herb Williams.- La-Mar La-Mar Weight is acting as coach of this club, and Harold Christensen is taking the other M-Men team for the night's game. Tickets for the games are being sold by the Boy Scouts and everyone every-one is urged to purchase a ticket to assist in this worthwhile cause. Witney, chairman of the boys' and girls' activity committee, is in charge, with Henry Weight directing the two games. Interesting Games Offered ... Both games Saturday promise to give sport followers some interesting in-teresting and fast basketball. The opening game will see the Red Devils in action against former high school stars, now on the M-Men M-Men team. This game should be a close and exciting battle, and will see Captain Jimmie Fullmer, Keith Christensen, LaMar Hales, Harold Norton, and Norman Clyde playing their final game for the Devils.
