Show School Official Returns From Education Meet Wallace V. Brockbank, assistant superintendent of Nebo district schools, has returned home from attending a six-day session of the American Association of Scnool Administrators' Ad-ministrators' annual convention atS Atlantic City, New Jersey. College presidents, superintendents superintend-ents and other school administrators administra-tors numbering between 8000 and 10.000 attended the convention. The over-all theme was "The Eanding Role of Education." Over 400 well-informed speakers discussed every phase of education. educa-tion. Among the main topics discussed were: Better adult education; expanding expand-ing need of efficient pre-school education; problems of training students to use leisure time efficiently; ef-ficiently; the need to teach more foreign languages in our schools; great need for more exchange teachers and students between nations, to foster better understanding. under-standing. Mr. Brockbank reports that the group made an appeal for a 2 to 4 per cent increase in federal aid. "The real test of education is how well we can bring together the theoretical and practical aspects as-pects of education," was a statement state-ment of Pearl S. Buck, noted author and Nobel prize winner, who addressed the gathering. Mr. Brockbank visited points of historical interest in the East before be-fore returning home. |
