Show LOCAL PRICE PANEL IS REORGANIZED Meeting At City Hall On Prices Attended By Many Interested Dealers The Springville Price Panel has been reorganized with Maurice Anderson appointed chairman to succeed Frank Berrett; and Ray Scovil, J. F. Wingate, Mrs. E. T. Crandall and Mrs. Abe Ullock, other members. Mrs. Myron D. Childs is voluntary supervisor. Panel assistants, whose duty is to check prices of certain items in business concerns once each month and report any irregularities irregulari-ties to the price panel, include Mrs. Glenn Allan, Mrs. Ed Aver-ett, Aver-ett, Mrs. Jack Perham, Mrs. Alma Miner and Mrs. Sarah Palfrey-man. Palfrey-man. These women are doing an outstanding job in this particular work, according to Mrs. Blanche Beal, head of the local OPA office. Mrs. Beal also reports that a community com-munity service panel has been fully ful-ly organized in Springville, comprising com-prising some twenty representatives representa-tives of various clubs and service organizations. It is the duty of the members of this organization to publicize information sent out by the OPA on various programs of which the public should know. This organization is headed by Harrison Conover. At a Price Control meeting on Monday evening, at the city hall, several problems in regard to local lo-cal price violations and other business busi-ness 'was taken up. In attendance at the meeting were John S. I Betts, state price specialist, and William Firmage from the district OPA. Also, Springville retail grocerymen were invited to the meeting and a round-table discussion discus-sion of existing conditions was i held. Maurice Anderson, Panel chairman, was in charge of the meeting. |
