Show REGION THREE MEET AT PROVO TODAY Bed Devils To Enter Eegional Meet; American Fork Defends Last Year's Title Region three track teams will meet at the Brigham Young university uni-versity stadium today at 2:30 p. m. in their annual track and field meet. First, second, and third place winners in all events except the relays will qualify for the state meet May 9 at Salt Lake City. In the relays, only first place winners win-ners qualify. Last year Coach Leo Nelson's American Fork Cavemen nosed out Provo by a half a point for the regional title, with Lincoln finishing finish-ing third. The Cavemen are favored fav-ored to repeat this year. Springville, winner of the Nebo track and field meet recently held at Payson, should come through with its share of first places. Calvin Cal-vin Clyde, ace sprinter, and Louis Maiben, will be depended on for a good share of the Devils' points. Other capable point-getters include- John Strong, Guy Bird, Glen Clark, Melvin Teasdale, Harold Gividen, and Scott Beardall. Art Gilbert and Art Hughes are coaching coach-ing the squad. |
