Show Local Qouple Exchange Vows In Salt Lake Temple . Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Sanford announce the marriage of their daughter, Carrie Lavern, to Max L. Larsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Larsen, also of Springville, which took place Monday in the Salt Lake temple, with President Broadbent performing the ceremony cere-mony in the presence of immediate imme-diate family members and close friends. After the ceremony, the couple were guests of honor at a wedding wed-ding dinner at the Mayflower, with members of the wedding party in attendance. The couple are spending spend-ing a few days in Salt Lake City and will make their home indefinitely indefin-itely in Springville. The bride-elect is a former student stu-dent of the U. S. A. C, Logan, and Mr. Larsen has attended business busi-ness college and the U. S. A. C. He recently returned from a mission in the east central states. MRS. LESTER E. DAVIS ENTERTAINED MONDAY evening at a dinner complimenting compliment-ing her husband on the occasion of his birthday. Following dinner, games were enjoyed. Guests included Bishop and Mrs. Ray Davis, Bishop and Mrs. Elmer Sabin and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Davis, all of Salem, and members of the Davis family. MRS. HAZEL HARRISON : MRS. BILL OSTLUND ENTERTAINED HER CLUB at her home here Thursday afternoon, after-noon, with progressive "500" featured fea-tured as entertainment, followed by a delicious hot dinner. Prizes for the afternoon games went to Mrs. Bernice Olsen and Mrs. Thel-ma Thel-ma Williams, both of Provo. Others attending were Mrs. Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Groneman, Mrs. Geneve Bennett, Ben-nett, Mrs. Emily Liddiard, Mrs. Inez Dennison, Mrs. Bernice Olsen, Ol-sen, of Provo, and Mrs. Delia Adams of Pleasant Grove. MRS. HELEN ROWLAND ENTERTAINED THURSDAY evening at her home for members of the Versatility club. The group enjoyed lunch and later sewed. Present were Evelyn Bird, Eloise Bird, Elzina Laney, Harriet Strong, Marva Taylor, Eulalia Livingston, Geraldine Atkinson, Harriet Burt, and Minnie Walton of Provo. GIRLS' DAY AT THE LINCOLN SCHOOL Friday evening featured a dancing party given by the fifth and sixth grades. Many of the girls came with their partners and the dance was from 7 to 8:30 p. m. FHtEMEN LADIES WERE ENTERTAINED WAS HOSTESS THURSDAY evening to members of the Social Twelve club at her home. Contract bridge was enjoyed with prizes in the form of defense stamps going to Mrs. Gertrude Sumsion and Mrs. Hilda Grant. The party was concluded with a tasty lunch served to twelve club members. This fall, if nothing happens, the people will pay their respects to the congressmen, including senators, sen-ators, who voted against fortifying Guam and sought to delay appropriations ap-propriations for more adequate defense. Monday at the home of Mrs. Eva White, with Mrs. Faye Snelson as assisting hostess. The group spent the time making mak-ing an afghan for the Red Cross, and tasty refreshments were served. ' In attendance were Mrs. Noma Thorpe, Mrs. Leona Wilson, Mrs. Marjorie Bird, Mrs. Eileen Bird, Mrs. Marjorie Frandsen, Mrs. Mary Friel, Mrs. Lucille Smith, Mrs. Marva Taylor, Mrs. Rowena Rig-trup, Rig-trup, and the hostesses. A PARTY WAS HELD TUESDAY EVENING by the officers and teachers of the First ward M. I. A. and their partners part-ners following the regular Mutual meeting. Approximately 40 people peo-ple were in attendance. The entertainment included a variety of games under direction of Victor Frandsen, an impromptu program and a delicious lunch suggestive of St. Patrick's day, together to-gether with dancing. Directing the entertainment were Presidents A. W. Cherring-ton, Cherring-ton, Blanch Ostlund and Maud Nielson. |
