Show JACK R. LANEY ACCEPTS MISSION CALL Farewell Testimonial And Social Planned For Missionary With Recent Call Jack R. Laney, son of Bishop and Mrs. G. C. Laney of the Third ward, has accepted a call to the New England States mission. He will leave for the mission home in Salt Lake City on March 9, and for his mission on March 18. In his honor, the Third ward Mutual association is sponsoring a social at 8 p. m. Thursday, in the Fourth ward amusement hall. President F. C. Packard is in charge of the program, which will include vocal selections, instrumental instru-mental and dance numbers. Dancing Danc-ing will conclude the entertainment. entertain-ment. The departing missionary will also be honored with a farewell testimonial in the Third ward chapel cha-pel at 7 p. m. Sunday, with M. W. Bird, missionary committee chairman, chair-man, in charge of the program. Short talks are scheduled to be given by Grant Alleman, W. K. Johnson, Peter Nielson, and the missionary. Ramona Leonard will give a vocal selection, Jim Brails-ford, Brails-ford, a violin number; Venice Whiting, a reading; Phyllis Smart, a violin selection; Kathlyne Metcalf, Met-calf, a vocal selection; the Sargent sisters, a vocal selection, and Mrs. Clara Boyer, an original poem. |
