COAST ATTACKS 1 COULD BE POSSIBLE The people who live on the coasts of the United States understand under-stand the danger of enemy sneak attacks, even if they are unable to visualize hostile action as an immediate im-mediate threat. We, who live in Utah county, cannot imagine an invading army of foreign men sweeping through the land, destroying property, executing civilians and attacking women without regard to the morality mor-ality that is expressed in our civilization. ci-vilization. We might as well face the hard truth that slaps us in the face as we slowly recognize the stern fact that Japan has marched fast and far along the road to victory in this war. The loss of the Far East is not a death blow to the United States, not yet. It is the breath of life to Japan, whose military machine will grow stronger as it feeds upon the rich resources of conquered lands. |
