Show MODERN Marjorie Hope Nicolson, Dean of Smith college, is the first woman wo-man to head Phi Beta Kappa since its establishment 164 years ago at William and Mary college, Virginia. Vir-ginia. This oldest Greek letter fraternity fra-ternity is no longer a secret society so-ciety and membership, which is purely honorary, marks the recipient reci-pient of the golden key as of particularly par-ticularly high standing. Miss Aiuie Goodrich has created creat-ed a new field of work, that of making nursing motion pictures for foreign students studying in the United States. She is a registered regis-tered nurse and an expert photographer, photo-grapher, specializing in nursing and welfare photography. She started her career ten years ago in China. Later she made an experimental ex-perimental film at the Yale School of Nursing which won her a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation to continue along the same lines. Slve has helped to interpret the work, by photographs, of nursing and health groups, and she often takes pictures of clinics. She herself her-self is a graduate of the Yale School of Nursing. The Countess of Listowel, whose husband is a member of the British Bri-tish House of Lords, has been a newspaper correspondent of many years' standing and a member of many diplomatic circles In Eu- rope. |
