Show W.W.CLYDE GETS ROAD JOB FOR $383.976 One of the largest single contracts con-tracts ever awarded by the Utah Road commission was let Tuesday Tues-day to W. W. Clyde & Co., of Springville, for the construction of a four-lane highway in the upper end of Parley's canyon. This company was the lowest of six bidders, offering to do the work for $383,976.65. In addition, there will be $1051 worth of work done by the Denver & Rio Grande Western railroad, and $2 300 under un-der force account. With the usual 10 per cent for engineering and contingencies, the total cost will be $426,060.41. The section over which, the new highway will be built extends from the Parley's canyon summit to Kimball's Junction, a distance of a little over six miles. There will be four 11-foot lanes with a four-foot four-foot neutral zone in the center and three-foot shoulders on each side. Work will be started in a few days and will require nearly a year to complete. |
