Members in charge of the Junior Jun-ior Chamber of Commerce Cleanup Clean-up Campaign have outlined a score sheet for home owners to study in connection with the beautification beau-tification drive now underway. Every resident of this city and vicinity vi-cinity is asked to study it closely, as follows: How would your home score in a beautification contest? Take out a few minutes against the standards stan-dards set up in this score card, a modification of the L. D. S. church beautification program. If your score is above 7 0 points, you can consider your year-round beautification beautifi-cation efforts as satisfactory. If not. it should be a challenge to start an intensive beautification program of your own right now. CLEAN-UP Has all debris, accumulated rubbish, rub-bish, and trash been removed from your property? Have dead and unsightly trees and shrubs been uprooted and carted off? Are fences and out-building in repair? Score obtainable 30 points. Your Score PAINT-UP Are all exposed wooden surfaces protected from weathering? Has some paint been applied on the interior or exterior of the home or on the out-buildings during dur-ing the past year? Is the brick work, stone work, or other masonry in need of a protective, beautifying coating of stain? Score obtainable, 30 points. Your Score LANDSCAPING Are your grounds characterized by good arrangement and pleasing appearance? Are walks surfaced and in repair? re-pair? Are lawns trimmed and weed-free? weed-free? Are trees and shrubs placed with care and properly pruned? In short is your place well-groomed? Score obtainable, 30 points. Your Score THE BACK YARD Have you made any attempt to make your back yard an "outdoor living room"? Do you have facilities for garbage gar-bage disposal? Are the out-buildings unsightly? unsight-ly? If not, do they fit in with the grounds layout? Score obtainable, 10 points. Your Score |
