Show In Our Town... BETH EVANS Beth is our new Speech and Dramatic Art instructor at S. II. S. If I wanted to be an old meany I would say no more than that. She refused to answer the telephone, tele-phone, the doorbell, registered letters, let-ters, flowers, candy or anything. Finally, in desperation, Headman Wallace introduced me personally and even after that she insisted that I interview her in the hallway, hall-way, something I haven't done since I was sixteen. All joking aside, she is really a lovely girl and so wholeheartedly enthusiastic about her work that she is bound to succeed. Beth is a Spanish Fork girl, with all the charm of a 100 per cent Welsh ancestry. Graduated from B. Y. U. in '40 and has taught school ever since. I can only guess as to her age, but I'll bet she hasn't done much voting. Her pet hobby is music and collecting records and she playB the piano much better than she will admit. All In all, not bo bad for a little girl, huh? Now, if you really want to see what she can do, go to the High School Auditorium tonight or tomorrow to-morrow night and enjoy a grand plan. This is her first big effort, the well known play, "You Can't Take It With You." A cast of at least seventeen players and a lot of hours of hard work have gone into this, so let's all go out and give the support we would give a basketball game, at least. We have a lot of grand talent at the High School and we never will uncover it if we have nothing but a sprinkling of fond papas and mamas in attendance. THE CATALYST. |
