ASK COOPERATION IN GIFT PROJECT Suggestions Given For Christmas Gifts To Disabled Service People In response to an invitation by state officers to see that every disabled war veteran be remem-bred remem-bred with a gift this Christmas, the local Legion and Auxiliary are urging that townspeople assist with the project and contribute at least one gift. A suggestive list of gifts which will be appreciated by service people peo-ple now confined in hospitals throughout the state, is given as follows : For G. I. JOE: BOOKS Mysteries, Classics, Bibles, Bi-bles, Comics, Dictionaries, Westerns, West-erns, humor, (no war stories), maps of the USA, and maps of the World, pocketsize books are best STATIONERY AND GAMES: Games, Playing Cards, Checker Boards, Chess Sets, Cribbage Sets, Folding writing pads, Air- mail Stationery (a few airmail stamps), fountain pens, pencils, address books, picture folders, one-cent postcards, or picture postcards. TOILETRIES Toilet kits, hair conditioners, pocket combs, foot powders, lotions, shaving soaps, tooth paste and powder, soaps, cleansing tissue (use for packing), pack-ing), bath towels and talcum powders. THINGS TO WEAR: Sleeveless sweaters, Tee shirts, nice handkerchiefs, hand-kerchiefs, billfolds, good quality sox, bedroom slippers. NOTIONS Hair nets, clothespins, skirt hangers, khaki zippers, elastic by the yard, cellophane bags, yarn, needle work, (no needselels or scissors) thread and darning cotton. THINGS TO WEAR Scarfs, chamois cha-mois gloves, andannas, bed sox, nice handkerchiefs and bedroom slippers. Price of gift package to be from $2 to $5.
