With returning veterans all back in togs for the coming season sea-son on both the Mapleton and First ward teams, a close battle is predicted. Mapleton, with Jay Nielsen. Neil Whiting, Reed Bennett, Ben-nett, and Mack Holley, along with the rest of the team, is expected to go a long way In the Kolob circuit cir-cuit this year. These M Men will attempt to keep the Kolob crown in the First ward again this season. Over in the Fourth ward. Coach Reed Averett has been working on a comparatively young group of players preparing them for some stiff battles this year. While not much is known about the potential poten-tial strength of the Fourth ward club, they will not be counted out of the title chase. Centering their attack around Bob Burt, Rodney Stebbins, La-Mar La-Mar and Keith Boyer, and Roy Savage, the Second ward, with a larger and more enthusiastic group of players than heretofore has been seen, will be right in the scramble for stake honors this year. Although nothing definite has been heard from the Third ward this year, reports indicate that they will not have a competing team in the stake league. |
