Show PROBLEMS AIRED ' BY COUNCIL AT MONDAY MEET Changes Made In Appointive Officer Personnel; July Fourth Plans Discussed Duties of appointive officers in various city departments have been doubled, resulting- in a change in some of the personnel, it was announced at regular council meeting meet-ing Monday evening. Dean Straw, city road superintendent, superin-tendent, has been granted a three-month three-month leave of absence. During this time street work will be supervised su-pervised by Maurice Bird, city waterworks wa-terworks superintendent. The city health department supervised su-pervised formerly by John Barney, has been taken over by the police department. Harmer Nebeker, who has assisted in the electric light department, has been appointed to assist the police with health duties and also continue with his other work. The council will cooperate with the Chamber of Commerce in sponsoring spon-soring a July 4th celebration. Victor Vic-tor Frandsen and C. E. Eggertsen have been appointed chairmen to work with the chamber. The report of the city police department de-partment was also made at the council meeting for the month of May. According to the report, a total of $148 has been collected in fines for traffic violations covering cover-ing 12 cases, two of which were for drunken driving. Fines totaled $223, but the remainder is to be paid in monthly installments. One burglary case was also investigated investigat-ed during the month, according to the report. |
