Show Commercial Softball Games Scheduled At Ball Park Tonight Springville Garage And Park Inn Teams Capture Opening Games In Softball At City Park Tuesday Night Springville Garage and Park Inn won the opening open-ing games in the sof tball circuit here Tuesday night Spring-ville Garage tipped the Bates & Rogers club 15 to 12, while the Park Inn team turned back the Jaycee outfit 11-5. These teams will continue league play here tonight with two games scheduled. Bates & Rogers, newly organized softball club, made up of men working for Bates & Rogers Construction company at the steel plant, will play Park Inn at 8 p. m., followed by the Springville Garage - Jaycee contest. These four teams comprise thei local Cemmercial league and will play each other twice in one round. There will be three rounds of play during the summer. After the final round of play is completed, complet-ed, there will be another city soft-ball soft-ball tourney. This event will be late in August, states Art Hughes, local recreational director in charge of the softball sport. Sponsors and managers of the various teams are: Park Inn J. Lewis Bird, sponsor, Glen Clark, manager; Springville Garage Al Thorpe, sponsor, Skinny Fullmer, manager; Junior Chamber Sponsored Spon-sored by club, Ray Klauck and Bill Ruff, managers; Bates & Rogers Bates & Rogers Co., sponsor, Kenneth Ken-neth Cummins, manager. Anyone interested in playing softball should get in touch with the managers man-agers of the above mentioned teams or contact the recreational director, Art Hughes. Following is the first round schedule: June 18 8 p. m., Bates & Rogers vs. Park Inn; 9:15, Springville Garage vs. Jaycees. June 238 p. m., Bates & Rogers vs. Jaycees; 9:15, Springville Garage Gar-age vs. Park Inn. , June 25 8 p. m., Jaycees vs. Park Inn; 9:15, Bates & Rogers vs. Springville Garage.
