Show Jaycees Service Award Banquet Scheduled Second Annual Event To Climax National Jaycee Week Jan. 14-21; Banquet Thursday, At Memorial Hall Kay Johnson, president of the Springville Junior Chamber of Commerce, announced today that the week of January 14-21, is being observed nationally as "Junior Chamber of Commerce Week." as a feature of the week's observance, ob-servance, the local Chamber organization orga-nization is staging its second "Distinguished Service Award Banquet" next Thursday evening at the Memorial hall. The banquet will be the high point of local plans and will feature the presentation presen-tation of a Distinguished Award key to a young man of Springville, Spring-ville, between the ages of 21 and 35, who has rendered the most outstanding out-standing contribution to the community com-munity in the past year. This young man has already been selected se-lected by a committee here, states President Johnson, and his qualifications quali-fications have been approved by the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce, which investigates the awards. A proclamation appearing today to-day in the Herald has been issued by Mayor Emil Ostlund, declaring the week of January 14-21 as Junior Chamber of C ommerce Week in Springville. Similar proclamations pro-clamations are expected to be issued is-sued in other cities of the state where Jaycee organizations are functioning. |
