The group exchanged exchang-ed gifts and enjoyed a delicious luncheon and games. Guests included Delores Smith, Gloria Palfreyman, Beverly Hancock, Han-cock, Phyllis Peterson, Anna Mae Bird, Helen Holley, Elaine Jones, Colleen Lewis, Joy Thorpe, Elaine Anderson. MRS. A beautifully beau-tifully decorated tree was the cental cen-tal decorative figure and Christ-mas Christ-mas gifts were exchanged. Luncheon Lunch-eon was served early and contract brilge was the diversion of the eve-nuig, eve-nuig, with high score prize being won by Mrs. Hilda Grant and the EUest Prize by Mrs. Ellen Anderson. Ander-son. Attending were ten club members mem-bers and Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Mabel Simkins, guests. At a short business meeting fol-wing fol-wing the club social, it was voted serve dessert luncheons hereaf-er hereaf-er and to give prize awards of de-javings de-javings stamps. Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Betty Lou Palfreyman, Pal-freyman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Palfreyman of this city, and Lynn R. Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Walker, also of Springville, which took place on Monday evening at the home of the bride's parents, with Bishop Harold Alleman of the Second ward performing the ceremony. Immediately after the marriage, an informal wedding reception was held at the home, to which approximately ap-proximately fifty relatives and close friends were invited. The bride was charmingly gowned gown-ed in moire taffeta with fingertip veil. Adding a note of interest and beauty to her ensemble was her wreath of orange blossoms, an heirloom worn by her great-aunt, Mrs. Abner Thorn, at her wedding more than 50 years ago. During the evening music was furnished by Russell Palfreyman and Robert Thorn. Mrs. Mary Smart and Mrs. Maryn Johnson directed the serving. LaRue Mower Mow-er poured, assisted by Dona Cas-sidy Cas-sidy and Thelma Graves. Lorain Thorn and Glenna Palfreyman had charge of the gifts. The serving table was covered with a gorgeous lace cloth and centered with tall white tapers in crystal candelabra and pink and white carnations. Colors of pink and white were carried out in refreshments re-freshments and room decorations. The couple plan to leave soon for San Luis Obispo, Calif., to make their home. NOVELTY CHICLE HELD A PARTY celebrating Christmas on Saturday evening, with Maurine Child and Mary Cameron acting as hostesses. Dinner was served at one long table which held a beautiful centerpiece cen-terpiece of red carnations and evergreen. Covers were arranged for Luella Huntington, Kathleen Metcalf Mel-ba Mel-ba Witney, Doris Wing, Shirley Barrett, LaRae Thorpe, and Bernice Ber-nice Chader. |
