I A "White Christmas" is guaranteed, guaran-teed, regardless of outside weather, when you decorate your Christmas tree with natural-looking Lux "snow." Piled high on the branches, it will give your tree an unusual and attractive attrac-tive trimming that will last as long as the tree itself. For a natural, woodsy look, use the snow alone. Add lights if you wish multi-colored bulbs cast interesting shadows on the white snow, or, for a lovely moonlit effect, use all blue lights. If you have a collection of treasured ornaments you can use them, too. You'll find you need fewer ornaments when you use Lux snow and that's a help this year. Here's how to make the "snow" Bmpty a large box of Lux flakes into a mixing bowl or dishpan. Gradually add 2 cups of lukewarm water, beating with an eggbeater until the mixture is the consistency of thick whipped cream. Then spread handfuls of the snow along the branches. It will harden in an hour or two. If you use ornaments or lights, put them on after the snow has dried. Or you might try sprinkling some shining artificial snow on the tree while the soap mixture is still damp. It will catch the light and give a glittering, fairyland effect. To carry out the "snowstorm" theme through your whole house, buy a few extra branches of evergreen when you get your tree and coat them with Lux snow, too. These can be fashioned into a wreath or miniature tree for the front door, or can be banked behind a mirror or over the buffet. They'll stay fresh until after New Year's and provide a seasonal background for all your holiday festivities. |
