Show UTAH COUNTY MAKES NEW SAFETY RECORD At midnight-Tuesday May 21, Utah county completed 102 days without a traffic fatality. This is a remarkable achievement in the face of Utah county's record for the early months of the year and the increase of state fatalities over 1939. This splendid record was accomplished ac-complished only by the closest cooperation co-operation of local enforcement officers, safety council activities, state and local and civic clubs, motorists themselves, and the Utah State Highway patrol. There are six highway patrolmen patrol-men in Utah county who patrol 157 miles of state highway every day with several trips each week over an additional 50 miles. This means constant vigilance on the part of the patrolmen who endeavor en-deavor to keep motorists from breaking the law rather than having to arrest them for violations. viola-tions. Patrolmen keep this educational educa-tional feature in mind at all times. The following men are attached to the highway patrol in Utah county: Sergeant Elmer D. Loveless, Love-less, Sergeant L. A. Christensen, Patrolman Melvin Grant, Patrolman Patrol-man Charles Allred, Patrolman Owen Beardall and Patrolman Dean Shearer. |
