Mr. and Mrs. George Weight have returned to their home following fol-lowing several days' visit with relatives rel-atives and friends in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Flossie Sanford was among the Utah county D. U. P. officers who visited camps in Spanish Fork last Thursday. m v m Among Springville people who attended the all church M. Men tournament in Salt Lake City the latter part of the past week, were A. G. Peterson, H. M. Weight, Dan Payne, Mrs. Woodrow Weight, Mrs. George Bird, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bird and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bird. Mrs. Ernest Oakley and daughter daugh-ter Lucille left Monday on a business busi-ness trip to Colorado and surrounding sur-rounding states. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Oakley left Saturday for Alameda, Calif., where Mr. Oakley is stationed with the navy. They were accompanied as far as Ogden by Mrs. Ernest Oakley, Lucille Oakley and Mrs. Jasper Thorn. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Johnson of Richfield, Ida., have returned to their home following several weeks visit with relatives and friends here. Their two boys, Glen and Fred Johnson, are in the armed forces. Glen is a lieutenant junior grade in the navy and Fred is located lo-cated at present at Fort Douglas. Both boys have lived in Springville while they attended the B. Y. U. Lt. and Mrs. Morris Kelley were guests Friday of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kelley in this city. Lt. Kelley, Kel-ley, a son of the late Tom Kelley of Springville, has been stationed at San Luis Obispo, Calif., and was on his way to Philadelphia, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Selck visited visit-ed a few days of this week with her mother-in-law' Mrs. A. W. Harmer, and other relatives on her return to her home in Idaho Falls, Ida. She has spent six weeks with her husband who was stationed with the navy at San Diego, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Zumwalt and daughter Barbara of Salt Lake City were guests during the week end of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Franks. Mrs. Edith Blanchard of Long Beach, Calif., is spending a few days in Springville with relatives and friends. Lt. Joe Salisbury, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Salisbury, is spending spend-ing a short furlough with his parents par-ents and other relatives here. He was recently transferred to the 63rd troop carrier group at Vic-torville, Vic-torville, Calif. Ronda Jenkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Jenkins, visited in Springville the past week enroute to San Bernardino, Calif., where he will be stationed with the army. Ruth and Delia Baxter, coming from Gunnison and Salt Lake City, respectively, spent the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Baxter. They were accompanied accom-panied by Roger Nielson of Salina and Barbara Beaver of Montana. Mr. "and Mrs. El Rey Fehr of Whittier, Calif., spent a few days of the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Huntington. Mr. Fehr has now gone into the armed forces for-ces and Mrs. Fehr, the former Virginia Vir-ginia Rivers, will make her home here indefinitely. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Wingate spent Sunday with their daughter, Mary Louise Wingate, who is taking tak-ing nurses' training at St. Marks hospital, and also with other relatives rela-tives in Salt Lake City. Mrs. A. C. Bird has returned to her home here after three months spent with relatives in California. She visited her son, Dr. P. B. Bird and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Bird and Mrs. J. R. Harmon at Los Angeles. |
