Show Junior Chamber Installs New Heads At Tuesday Evening Dinner-Meeting d. - " (j Bill Welch of Price, state Junior Jun-ior Chamber of Commerce vice-president vice-president and a candidate for the office of state president, spoke at the installation banquet for new officers of the Springville Club Tuesday evening. He discussed a program to acquaint club members mem-bers and other citizens with national na-tional problems and situations. The visiting club official also installed the newly elected president, presi-dent, Marcus Johnson. Other officers of-ficers were installed by Robert Parker, past president and Stanley Stan-ley Roberts, retiring president, officiated of-ficiated at the installation of- the new board of directors. The dinner-meeting, attended by approximately seventy-five club i -members and partners also included in-cluded officers of various civic organizations and other special . guests. In addition to the president, other officers who took over their respective positions included: Bud Done, first vice-president; Art Child, second vice-president; Blaine Hardy and Dave Thomas, 2-year directors; Harris Loughnan, Byron Wardle and Bill Averett, one-year directors; Guy Norton, holdover director. Verl Wiser has been appointed ap-pointed .secretary and Lamar Miner, Min-er, club treasurer. Mortensen introduced in-troduced the retiring officers. A highlight of the vening was the presentation of the Thorn award by Grant Thorn, to the newly new-ly elected president, Marcus Johnson. John-son. This award is given annually to the club member who has the "most active" record in club work, during the past year. Also during the program, Lee Done was presented a gift in appreciation ap-preciation for her efforts as newsletter news-letter editor, the presentation being be-ing made by Art Child. The past president's pin was presented to Mr. Roberts by Verl Whiting, a past president. During the evening, Bill Kapp entertained the group with two numbers on the solovox. |
