Show Jesse W. Tonks Farewell Set Sunday Evening r Jesse W. Tonks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Tonks, has accepted a call to the LDS mission in New Zealand, representing the Fifth ward. In his honor a farewell testimonial testi-monial will be held in the ward Sunday evening, beginning at 5:15 p.m. to which all members and friends of the. departing missionary are invited. Elder Tonks entered the mission home Wednesday, October 6, and will sail from the west coast next Tuesday, Oct. 12, for New Zealand. The departing missionary is a graduate of the Springville high school and has completed two years at the BYU. The program in his honor Sunday Sun-day evening will be given as follows: fol-lows: opening song "The Lord is My Shepherd"; invocation, Virgil Hansen; sacrament song by the congregation, "O God the Eternal Father"; talk, Reed Halverson, former president of the New Zealand Zea-land mission; solo, Grant Clyde; remarks, parents of the missionary; mission-ary; response, the missionary, and Bishop Grant Thorn; quartet, New Zealand missionaries; benediction, Roger West. |
