Show FFA Activities Eleven members of the Spring-ville Spring-ville chapter of FFA and their advisor, ad-visor, Lorin Phillips, attended an area FFA business meeting at the Wasatch high school at Heber. The primary purpose of the meeting was election of area officers for the coming year. The Springville chapter have the pleasure of having Gordon ThorpeJ elected to the office of vice president. presi-dent. Area president is Duane Iver-son Iver-son of Pleasant Grove; secretary, David Pugh from Lincoln; reporter, report-er, James Walker of Spanish Fork, and athletic manager Bill Johnson, also of Spanish Fork. Refreshments were served by Wasatch high at the close of the meeting. It is reported by Mr. Phillips that five FFA boys who exhibited at the recent state fair received ribbons and prize money for their exhibits. Richard Barker received second and third places on his fruit exhibits; Milton Beck received receiv-ed first and fourth for fruit exhibits; ex-hibits; Don Phillips took third place on his Pontiac potatoes; Don Carley took third on pink-eye beans; Keith Fackrell received third on his tomatoes. Greenhand initiations are being planned for October 13-14. |
