Show High School Day Success; Many Parents Attend Parents took places of their boys and girls at high school PTA visiting day Friday of last week and reported an enjoyable as well as an informative time with the days program being well prepared and carried out in every detail. In the assembly which opened the day's events, an outline of classes offered at the school was given by representatives of the various departments to acquaint parents with a curriculum designed design-ed to offer help to students in preparing for a career, college, or developing creative arts. Those who spoke were Dee Sanford, Lorin Phillips, Omar Hansen, El-don El-don Reese, Eli Tippetts, Carol Kreth, Harold Bartlett, George Pehrson, Harmon Hatch, Stanley Birmingham, Mae Huntington, Principal Paul Walker and C. Lynn Hanks, the latter of the junior high. Ernest Boyer, president presi-dent of the PTA, conducted the meeting. A vocal solo was given by Stanley Birmingham, accompanied accom-panied by Naomi Boyer. Following the assembly, parents went through the class schedule of their students during which time teachers acquainted them with the classwork as well as discussing attendance, curriculum, report cards, credits, vandalism and parents and teachers responsibility respon-sibility to students. After lunch was served, the parent-teacher individual consultation consulta-tion took up the afternoon. |
