Davis entertained en-tertained at a family dinner during dur-ing the holidays for their son Vern and wife of Provo and Ted and wife of Salt Lake City and their families. Bishop and Mrs. Edward Boyer had as their dinner guests Saturday Satur-day Mr. and Mrs. Joseph S. Jar-vis Jar-vis and family of Mesa, Ariz., and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Chapman and family of Edwards, Calif. Larry D. Hatfield,, son of Mrs. Mary F. Hatfield, was home for the holidays visiting his mother and other relatives and friends. They spent two days in Salt Lake with his sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Christensen. He reported back this week to Camp Hanford; Wash., where he is stationed sta-tioned with the army as a cook. Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Child spent the Christmas holidays in Denver with their daughter and husband, Dr. and Mrs. Paul Eggertsen and children, returning home for New Years. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Weight and daughter Naomi returned Monday from an enjoyable vacation to California. They stopped over night in Las Vegas and went on to South Gate, Calif., where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Wright (Viva Diamond) In company with Mr. and Mrs. Wright, they traveled travel-ed down the coast to San Diego where they enjoyed a view of the naval ships and other sights. They also went to Tijuana for a short time before returning to South-gate. South-gate. At Los Angeles, they visited Vern and Cora Thorn Bird and they took them to numerous places of interest in the vicinity, including includ-ing the temple, the Cinerama, Huntington Galleries, Forest Lawn cemetery, Knottsberry farm and other places. They also enjoyed the rose parade and Henry and Mr. Wright attended the Rose Bowl game. The Weights also called on Mr. and Mrs. Grant Crandall, former for-mer residents now living in Monrovia, Mon-rovia, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Vert Whiting and family and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thorn and family were among the Springville people who went to Pasadena, Calif, to see the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl game. Mrs. Lula Mendeohall left recently re-cently to spend two or three months in Boston, Mass., the guest of her daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Phil-ilips Phil-ilips McCaul and family. Mrs. Bell Knox of Salt Lake City has been visiting at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. LuDean Litster and making the acquaintance of her new grandchild. Among the servicemen home from their various camps for the holidays were Jimmie Giles, Jess Barton and Robert Barton, Garth Tingey and Ron and Dwain Roy-lance. Roy-lance. Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Bird returned return-ed Sunday from a few days vacation vaca-tion in California. They went in company with Mrs. Bird's sister and husband, of Salt Lake City, and visited another sister and her husband, Mr: and Mrs. Bruce Nelson Nel-son in Los Angeles. They also saw the Rose Parade and visited places of interest. |
