Show Kolob District Scouts to Spend Weekend at Ranch Seventy Kolob District Scouts are looking forward for-ward to a weekend described by some as "better than Christmas". They will leave Fridav at 10 Hurdwear Ranch in Logan Canyons ...here they will ski, sleigh-ride and help feed the elk at the Utah State Elk Refuge. Commissioner Elwood Lovendge said today that teachers are cooperating co-operating and will excuse the Scouts after they report for school Friday morning. Each troop will be responsible for transportation of their own boys by private automobile. auto-mobile. Arrangements have been made to insure each one making the trip, Mr. Loveridge said. The boys are to take warm clothing, their sleeping bags and enough food for the trip. They will sleep in the barracks provided at the ranch. Eugene Gibbs of Mapleton, Kolob stake camping and activities chairman, chair-man, has made arrangements for the boys to visit the ranch and all are looking forward to an interesting inter-esting experience' and a grand time. The ranch is located about 20 miles out of Logan between Logan and Garden City. They will leave for home on Saturday at about 3 p.m. Mr. Loveridge said today that the boys are in need of toboggans (sleighs) and he asked that if anyone any-one has one they would like to loan to the Scouts, to notify him or Eugene Gibbs. Good care will be taken of the sleigh. The ranch outing will not take the place of the annual barbecue which is being planned for the Scouts of the district in Payson Canyon in February, under direction direc-tion of Mrs. Gibbs. i |
