Show Road Crews Work On .Hrghway to Recreation Areas Recreational areas in the. right hand fork of Hobble Creek canyon are being made much more accessible, acces-sible, according to committeemen of the Springville Chamber of Commerce, who with forest officials offic-ials made an inspection trip to the canyon the latter part of last week. Included in the inspection party were A. L. Thorpe, Chamber of Commerce highway chairman; also James Jacobs of the forestry department de-partment with offices in Provo; Cecil Engleman and Russell Lynn, engineer with the forestry, the latter's office being in Ogden. They report work being done on nearly seven miles of roadway up to Balsom Park. In some places, where floods have torn the road away, it is being completely rebuilt. re-built. County crews are grading and putting in a base ready for oiling oil-ing later. Mr. Thorpe reported that$ some portions of the old road is also being relayed. The work will cost in the neighborhood of $30,-000 $30,-000 and the road when completed will be a beautiful driveway to the canyon parks. |
