Show City Softball Championship Games Scheduled To Begin Here Friday a The first game of the city Softball playoffs to determine the 1955 champion will begin Friday night, announces George Pehrson of the city recreation de- partment. Ruff Garage, winner of the first half title, and Cal's TV, second half champ, will play a two-out-of-three series to determine the winner. The games will be played on the regular nights, Friday, July 29, Tuesday, August 2 and if necessary, nec-essary, the finale will be staged the following Friday, August 5. Winner of the city softball crown will be given a handsome trophy for their efforts, Mr. Pehrson Pehr-son stated. Last Friday night, Cal's soundly trounced Ruff's to cinch the second sec-ond half title with a 10-2 victory. Walser pitched 4-hit ball for the winners. Bissell was the catcher. For the losers, Klauck and Ruff was the battery. |
