Show Artist Stops Here To Compliment Student Writer A high school senior next year, Howard Weight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Weight, experienced a happy surprise Tuesday and felt highly honored when the artist, Harry Leith-Ross of New Hope, Pa., and Mrs. Leith-Ross called at the Weight home. Purpose of the visit by Mr. Leith-Ross was to personally congratulate con-gratulate Howard for the essay he wrote on the artists's painting, "The Bridge of Recollection and Regret." Not only did Mr. Leith-Ross Leith-Ross praise Howard's literary ability, but he presented him with the final five-by-four-inch sketch of the painting on which he had written, all framed. The artist told Howard that he had said in his essay all that he had tried to put into the picture. At the time Howard was presented pre-sented first place for his essay in the April art essay contest, his composition was sent to the artist art-ist in New Hope and he wrote ,to Mrs. Mae Huntington saying that he intended to stop in Springville this summer to visit the Springville art and see the young writer. Mr. Leith-Ross was enroute from the University of Utah, where he has had a summer teaching engagement, to Cedar City, where he is to teach art for a few weeks at the College of Southern Utah. |
