Show Terrific ,Wind Results In Property Damage A freak twister accompanying a high wind on Thursday after-non after-non of last week did considerable damage in the Springville area. On the South Springville road, the wind struck a large 2-story chicken coop belonging to Arvil Bird tearing off a 70-foot roof from the tile walls. The roof crushed crush-ed a cement mixer and five gas stoves, killing between 600 and 800 turkeys on the top floor. Damage Dam-age was estimated at approximately approxima-tely $2000. The building housed 4000 turkeys. The wind also tore the roof off a dairy barn belonging to Oliver Dalton in the same area. At Brokside, a large willow tree on the property formerly owned by Frank Sanford, near the creek, was uprooted by the wind. |
