Show Meeting Scheduled Tonight To Take I Up Problem Of Exceptional Child A general meeting for all parents par-ents who have exceptional children child-ren will be held this evening, June 4, at 8 p.m, in the South court room of the City and County building', build-ing', announces Mrs. Leona Curtis, public health nurse. The meeting is being held in the hopes that parents of exceptional children can be organized to make sure that every child who has a special problem, physical, mental, or emotional may receive the particular par-ticular kind of help he needs. This means that the child who has a physical handicap, defective hearing or eyesight, a crippling condition, a speech defect or an organic or-ganic weakness, shall first of all be found, then be treated medically medi-cally as his condition demands; be educated in accordance with his needs and abilities and be guided toward social and vocational adjustment. ad-justment. The same holds true for the slow learning child who may have a mental handicap and for the gifted or brilliant child, since he, too, has a special problem. |
