Show Funeral Services Held Sal for Korean Veteran Funeral services were held in the Mapleton Second ward church Saturday Sat-urday for Daniel Leo Jones, 24. Korean war veteran, who died of accidental gunshot wounds Wednesday Wed-nesday of last week. Bishop S..Reed Bennett was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, directed direc-ted by Claudin Funeral Home. He was born August 9, 1932 in Thistle, a son of Frank L. and Lucy Hopper Jones and received his education in Springville schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in January 1951. In 1954, he received an honorable discharge having held the rank of Navy Airman. He served in Korea and was aboard the USS Boxer. He had been hospitalized seven months before his discharge as a result of an injury from a jet plane explosion. He was a member of the LDS Church and was employed at Geneva Ge-neva at the time of his death. Surviving besides his parents of Mapleton, are:-a brother, William L. Jones and two sisters, Mrs. Roy R. (Mary Lou) Seip of Springville-and Springville-and Mrs. Calvin (Lily Jane) Sneen of Salem. |
