Among , those present were Mrs. Ilia Mof-fitt Mof-fitt and four children of Ignacio, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Orris Behr-man Behr-man of LaSal, Utah; Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Behrman of Albany, Oregon, Ore-gon, and their four boys; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Potter and boy of Pamona, California; Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Behrman and two children of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Verl Behrman, Behr-man, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Palmer and family of Mapleton; and Mr. and Mrs. V. E. Behrman of Phoenix, Phoe-nix, Arizona. Of special interest to the family members while together was the temple sealing in the Manti temple of the Orrin Behrman family of LaSal, Utah. Also the news of the appointment to a diplomatic post of the Stanley Potters to Paraguay, Para-guay, South America. They will be trained for the next five months in the Spanish and Indian language before taking on their new duties. Mapleton News Hy Mrs. Norrls T. Kinks i l'liono 1IU 0-5875 Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Bird and their son Lynn in company with Mr. ami Mrs. Kenneth Kenny of Provo spent the day at Lagoon, where - the Hurst fa"mily reunion was held. Lynn Bird who has been home on a two weeks furlough, returned to his army base at Detroit, Michigan. Mich-igan. Ho left early this morning by plane from Salt Lake City. Lynn has a rating of Specialist in the supply department of the army. He received his early training at Camp Carson in Colorado but has spent the past year in Detroit. He has six more months of training before being released when he will resume his studies at the BYU where he will be a Junior. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Lavell Bird. Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Robertson Robert-son have enjoyed the company of Mr. Norman A. Fox and his wife Rosalea and Myril Coad of Great Falls, Montana two days last week. Mr. Fox is a novelist and his most recent book "Night Passage" is being made into a picture starring James Stewart and Audie Mur- phy. The Busy Fingers 4-H club was entertained at the home of Brenda Johnson July 6 under the direction of their leaders Orpha Dee Johnson John-son and Mrs. Roberta Singleton. The girls were taught how to polish pol-ish shoes properly and worked on their hot pads. Refreshments were served. Bill Parry, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Parry is in Minneapolis, Minn, taking a course in electronics. electron-ics. He was sent by personel at Hillfield where he is employed. Mr. and Mrs. Sergie Nelson have returned from a vacation trip to N Yellowstone and points of interest in the West. They were gone two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Harmer in company with Mr. and Mrs. Morris Dnllin of Springville have returned from a delightful trip to Yellowstone, Yellow-stone, tho Black Hills of South Dakota, through Nebraska and returning re-turning by way of Colorado. They visited the Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park while at Colorado. A recent guest at the Elmer Johnson home was David Morrish from Plymouth, England. He is a Rotary Scholarship student who had attended college at Madison, Wisconsin with their son Welburn K. Johnson. A delightful party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Tuttle honoring Mr. and Mrs. Verl Johnson and family from Hanna, Wyoming. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson and son Welburn Wel-burn K.; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bills and son Max and daughter Dianne; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bills and son Steven; Mr. and Mrs. Kay Bills and son Gordon and daughter Brenda; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph D. Barnes arid daughter Jackie and son Michael; Mr. and Mrs. Jay Haymond; Mr. Leslie Hanson from Provo; Mr. Randal Stonebreaker from Evanston, Wyoming. Wy-oming. Supper was served around the fireplace on the back lawns of the Tuttle home. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Olson and son of Concord, California have spent a week visiting at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Whiting. They came especially to attend the funeral services of He-ber's He-ber's father Mr. George Olson who died in Arizona and whose services were held in Fairview on July 5. Welburn Johnson is spending the summer months at the home of his ' parents Mr., and Mrs. Elmer John-I John-I son. He has been attending college at Madison, Wisconsin where he is majoring in political geography. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson have had as guests over the week end their son Verl and his wife Idonna with sons Ronald and Carl Brent and twin daughters Janet Lee and Judith Lynne. Randal Stonebreaker has also been a guest at their home. 1 Mrs. Sharlot Bartholomew of Salt Lake City spent the weekend at the home of her son Lee and family. Linda Freeman entertained the members of the Happy Homemak-ers Homemak-ers 4-H club at her home July 6. The time was spent making shelves and learning how to fill in nail holes. Refreshments concluded the afternoon. The Mapleton ward softball team played an outstanding game last Monday night on our own ball park when they beat the Springville Spring-ville First Ward 10-4 for the championship cham-pionship of the first half of the Stake league. The second half is now under way, the winner of which will play our team for the Stake championship. We feel that we have had very good fan support from the ward members. Mr. Vance Gividen was honored on his birthday Thursday of last week with a supper party by the members of his family. Supper was served on a long table on the back lawn of the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Nelson. It was beautifully decorated with a birthday cake and colorful summer flowers. The members of the V. E. Behrman Behr-man family held a family reunion several days last week. Most of them have been guests at the Verl Behrman and Lyle Palmer homes while here.
