Show Heads Auxiliary . . . i. --.V' Anna Mae Wardle Legion Auxiliary Names Heads; Poster Winners Mrs. Anna Mae Wardle was elected president of the American Legion Auxiliary for the coming year at a business meeting conducted con-ducted at Memorial hall Friday evening1. She will succeed Mrs. Clista Thomas,, who was in charge of the meeting. Other officers named are: Mrs. Marva Davis, first vice-president; Mrs. Delia Angus, second vice-president; vice-president; Mrs. Lola Weight, treasurer; Mrs. Cleo Bishop and Miss Barbara Hafen, sargeant at arms; Mrs. Eudora Jensen, chaplain; chap-lain; Mrs. Lela Nelson, historian. During the meeting also announcement an-nouncement was made of the winners win-ners in the Poppy Poster contest conducted in the Junior and Senior Sen-ior high schools by the Legion Auxiliary, with Mrs. LaRue Walker Wal-ker acting as chairman. To Alvin M. Beck went first place and Lloyd Hutchins received second place in the senior high school; Joan Haws and Robbie Lis-ton Lis-ton were awarded first and second sec-ond place in the Junior high school. Mrs. Walker said all of the posters entered were fine and judging of the best was difficult. A large number were entered in the contest. The winers were presented with cash prizes. Mrs. Floss Phillips, chairman of Girls State announced the candidates candi-dates who will . be sponsored by the Legion. They are Margaret Miller and Nadine Angus. Mrs. Helen Crandall gave a report re-port on the Legislative Council meeting and announcement was made of the Poppy Day to be on Saturday, May 24. Mrs. Dorothy Brown is chairman. |
