'tStiutsFf- ,J:Zt Practically demolishing scenic and camp sites in Hobble Creek Canyon, the old creek has ,taken a new route and cut a new channel in many places. While travel in the canyon is practically impossible, men on horse-back the past few days saw sad sights. What used to be a fine road to Cherry Park, is now the creek channel aseen in above picture, left, with just a portion oflthe road remaining. Picture, right, shows the new channel which the creek has taken down the road. Bottom. left (smaller pictures) shows the National Guard units putting the creek back in its place and repairing the roadway during the week end. Bottom, right, shows the creek traveling under a huge snow drift along the canyon can-yon route, one of the many which were responsible for the great damage done by the record high water. Mud slides have also done considerable damage covering most of the camp sites and in many places, the roadway. The fine bridges put in by the forest service last year, are also washed out. |
