Show , Legion Auxiliary I Has Guest Day j Ethel Water's book, (His Eye j in the Sparrow,' was reviewed in a most interesting manner by Mrs. Mae Huntington at the Legion Auxiliary Mothers and Guest Day program, last Wednesday evening at Memorial Hall. The book told of extreme poverty pov-erty and hardships experienced by the singer and actress who arose to fame and a salary of $4,000 per week. , Other numbers on the program included vocal selections by Mrs. Frances Clark, accompanied by Mrs. Julia Sumsion. Mrs. Clista Thomas, unit president presi-dent turned the meeting over to Mrs. Zola Gogarty, who had charge of program arrangements for the evening. 1 ' A dainty lunch was served in conclusion to a large group by hostesses Mrs. LaRue Walker, Mrs. Zola Gogarty, Mrs. Lois J. Child, Mrs. Barbara Hafen, Mrs. Elzina Laney, Mrs. Blanch Ost-lund, Ost-lund, Mrs. Aileen Price. |
