Show From the Herald Files Fifteen Years Ago Ellen Wheeler, Helen Alleman of this city and Betha Bearnson of Spanish Fork plan to attend summer sum-mer school at the University of Washington at Seattle. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mason announce an-nounce the marriage of their daughter Mildred, which took place today, June 13, in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fullmer announce an-nounce the engegement of their daughter Erma to Emil Mecham, son of Mr and Mrs. Frank Mecham Me-cham of Heber, the marriage to take place in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Clegg and Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Rowland this week visited Wallace Clegg, who was recently operated on at a Salt Lake City hospital. Largely attended funeral services ser-vices were conducted in the First ward chapel Wednesday for John Enevold Averett, 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Averett, who was drowned in a pool of water at the city gravel pit. :-o-: The second in a series of Sunday evening band concerts will be presented pre-sented at the City Park Sunday evening at 8:15 p.m. The high school band will be assisted by local musicians in the program. There are now 32 4-H clubs organized or-ganized in Springville and Maple-ton Maple-ton with the membership totaling about 250 girls. Paul Haymond has recently been appointed salesman for the S. E. Massingill Wholesale Drug Co. in the Utah-Idaho district and will begin his new work soon. Mr. Hav- mond, who has been in partnership with Mark Tripp at the Hedquist store, will retain his interest in the local store. The Legion post, under the direction di-rection of Commander Bill Phillips have planned their annual stag party to be in Hobble Creek canyon can-yon June 19. Committeemen assisting assist-ing with the event are: J. W. Grant, Ed Johnson, Victor Nielson, Harold Christensen and Paul Frandsen. Helen Palfreyman, Lucy Roy-lance, Roy-lance, Rea Straw, Margaret Hadley and Merlene Sumsion are attending summer school at the BYU. Mrs. Rhoda Dougall has returned from a two week visit in California with her daughter, Mrs. Catherine D. Wills and family. Mrs. A. G. Johnson recently accompanied ac-companied her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Nephi Packard of Ogden, on a vacation trip to the northwest. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Wingate and family left this week for a visit in Danville, Kentucky, Mr. Wing-ate's Wing-ate's former home. |
