Show J: Springville Gains 1,685 People In I Last 10 Years, 1950 Census Reveals fc: Springville has gained a total of 1,685 people in the last ten years, bringing the total population from 4,796 in 1940 to 6,481 in 1950, according to a report from the district supervisor for the5 : bureau of census. The city also slipped from No. 2 place in the i county to No. 3, being replaced by Orem who boasts of a total population of 8,338. Judging from the number of ration cards issued to Springville citizens during the war, the town i has decreased slightly since war days, when the ration cards num-I num-I bered over 7000. I Mapleton's population is listed 1 this year at 1,175 compared to 907 , ' in the 1940 census. , Provo'a population was listed at I 28,890 compared with 18,071 in 1940.
