Show Twenty Boy Scouts Leaving For National Jamboree Springville and Mapleton will be well represented at the National Scout Jamboree at Valley Forge, with approximately 20 Scouts and officials going from the various troops in Kolob district. Local Scouts will leave with others of the National Parks Council on June 22 by special train and will return July 11. To complete their equipment and get last minute information on the trip, the Scouts of the National 'Parks Council met in Provo over night Monday. The boys are making mak-ing their own tents in which they will camp while at Valley Forge. Included in the group from this district will be Roger Clyde, Jess Tonks, Richard Clyde, David Haymond, Mark Hoover, Louis Thorn, Arnold -Wilson, Gene Wilson, Wil-son, LaVar Felix, Douglas Poulson, and Donald Perkins of Springville; Wells and Charles Wentz, Bert Gi-viden, Gi-viden, Elmer W. Wiscombe, Norman Nor-man Young and Drexel Pate of Mapleton. Accompanying the boys will be Louis Cutler, who will be Scout Master of the Utah Council group and Wilford Manwaring also of Springville, who will be section leader of 34 troops. Assisting Mr Cutler will be LeRoy Whitehead of Spanish Fork and Kay Anderson of Duchesne. |
