Show Sosebali Clinic Set For BXU. jFieldhouse Sat. j A baseball clinic, the first of i the coming season, has been sched-t sched-t uled for next Saturday in the BYU Fieldhouse with some 1,500 dia j mond hopefuls expected to be in attendance. The clinic, which is being sponsored spon-sored by the Athletic Department at BYU and directed by Dave Crowton, is designed especially for Little League, American Legion, and high school players and coaches. Crowton, the Cougars' diamond coach, said some of the areas' top baseball talent is being imported for the day-long clinic. Eddie Leishman, general manager of yje Salt Lake City Bees, will conduct the clinic and be assisted by Occie Evans, Kent Peterson, Glen Tuck-ett, Tuck-ett, Wayne Tucker, Keith Steck, and members of the BYU baseball team. The morning portion of the clinic will be devoted to the general gener-al fundamentals of the game as demonstrated and discussed by the experts. The afternoon session, Crowton said, will be for coaches and other adults interested in coaching any type of baseball, and will go into a more detailed demonstration demon-stration of the techniques of the game. During the noon hour Saturday the clinic will show motion pictures pic-tures of the 1953 World Series and other baseball films. The clinic will get underway at 10 a.m. and continue through 4 p.m. All players and coaches are cordially invited to attend. |
