Show Gfrl Scout Week Being Observed? Program Planned This is Girl Scout Week observed by Girl Scouts throughout the United States. The first Girl Scout troop was organized in this country coun-try in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low. Members of Brownie Troop 32 are busy making plans this week to attend "SCOUT'S OWN" to be presented Sunday, March 14, at 2 p.m., in the West Lounge of the Social Hall on the Brigham Young University Campus. This is a program pro-gram presented by Girl Scouts for Girl Scouts. Its purpose is to make each scout think a little deeper into the meanings of scouting and help her toward a clearer understanding of her goal as a Girl Scout. It is strictly inspirational in concept and feeling. The Brownies are also looking forward to the National Girl Scout' Ccokie Sale which starts March 19 through the 26. They will realize a five cent profit on each box of cookies sold which they will use for troop supplies for the coming year. They are considering purchasing pur-chasing a matching set of flags for the Brownies and another set for the girls who will become Intermediate Inter-mediate Girl Scouts in May. Mrs. R. W. Hillis and Mrs. Bar-ratt Bar-ratt Oare are taking over leadership leader-ship of the delightful little girls who will not fly-up while Mrs. Bert West and Mrs. Sam Nissley will take over the Intermediates. Loan Albano will continue on as Program Pro-gram Aid with the Brownies. American Legion Post No. 28 are sponsors of these Girl Scouts and furnish their meeting room which they love and enjoy so much. |
