Show Chamber of Commerce Road Group Busy With Improvement Plans Plans are going forward by the Chamber of Commerce Com-merce road committee of which A. L. Thorpe is chairman, chair-man, for grading and resurfacing of the area south of Rnroutz-Reitz store, for a nark-4 ing lot. When the work is complet' ed, it is expected to take a number num-ber of business house employee's cars off the regular parking area, making more room for the cars of shoppers. Mr. Thorpe reported also the improvement of the canyon road up the left hand fork of Hobble Creek is expected to get underway the latter part of this week. He with Sterling Jones of the Utah county commission and Milton Giles, county road supervisor met with property owners in the area early this week to discuss plans for the road improvement, which will cover approximately four miles. ; Work is also expected to begin soon on improvements up the right hand fork of the canyon which has the road washed out in many places and in others only a temporary roadway evists. Mr. Thorpe said that the Chamber Cham-ber committee is working on plans to get the Hobble Creek bridge near Bulkley avenue widened and that the committee is still working with the city to have the north side of Fourth South put in shape for eventual curb and gutter. |
