I,e:ivl;iK- Springville the hitter part of April, they .sailed from Now York ami made their first stop on the continent nt Cherbourg in Krance. From here they took a plane to Lisbon, lVrtuKfil nnd from there to Madrid, Spain. These fro 3-Month W of EurPe , ( trip" whs tlu w"-v countries have only been touched by the tourist and are very interesting inter-esting places, they reported. From Madrid, they went by plane to Paris, France, where they joined others in the party for a tour of Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Aus-tria, Belgium and the Scandinav-ian Scandinav-ian countries of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Holland. The picturesque pic-turesque towns in the Bavarian Alps will never be forgotten, they say. Here they saw the old mots, the castles and the people with customs and dress handed down through the centuries. They especially enjoyed their tour of the British Isles having spent about ten days in London sightseeing. They also made a trip to Ireland by plane and toured places of interest there and also in Scotland, before going back to London. Mr. and Mrs. Price noted that every country in Europe, despite the fact that they are close so far as geographical aspects are concerned, con-cerned, yet they each have their own way of living, dress and customs cus-toms and each clings to its own traditions. Native dress and manners man-ners are found mostly in the country, coun-try, while the cities throughout Europe seemed very cosmopolitan, they said. Especially in Germany, did they notice much progress in rebuilding the country damaged by war. The travelers remarked that they were happy to be home again, but their entire trip was most enjoyable en-joyable and a perfect vacation. |
