Show Regiment of Insects Invades Homes; Property Owners Combat with DDT I f J, A mysterous enemy in an army of thousands Tuesday had invaded one ; Springville home and other families were setting up DDT baracades against the onslaught. Mr. and Sirs. Thomas Wheeler who live near the East mountains of Springville, said an army of tiny insects "not as large as ants" had entered their home through doors and window screens. They had taken over possession of beds, clothes closets and cupboards. Tho "army" moved down the road from the mountains and could be observed as it approached, witnesses said. The neighbors described the invasion as being about "a block long and solid across the road." , The army moved along Second Sec-ond North in the vicinity of Ninth East. Some relief from the insects was noticed by the Wheelers after application of DDT. The county agent and other specialists spec-ialists were called in on the case Tuesday. |
