Show Funeral Services Held Tuesday FoMac Whitney Funeral services were, conducted Tuesday afternoon in the Fourth-Seventh Fourth-Seventh ward chapel for McKinley (Mac) Whitney, 55, well known builder of Springville, who died Friday evening at a Provo hospital following an extended illness. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, under direction of A. Y. Wheeler and Son Mortuary. He was born at Mapleton, February Feb-ruary 28, 1898, a son of Harvty A. and Claudia Johnson Whitney. He spent his early life in Mapleton Maple-ton and married Fern Hurst April 30, 1919, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Active for many years in LDS church work, he held the office of High Priest in Kolob Stake and served in the Seventh ward bishopric bishop-ric until forced to resign due to ill health. He was a prominent builder in this area having supervised the construction of the Art building, the high school gymnasium and many other types of construction including highway bridges across the state. He was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his widow and six sons and daughters, Keith Whitney of Salt Lake City; Mrs. H. (Ruth) Weselch, Mrs. Wilbur (Marilyn) Wilson and Nedra Whitney and Kay Whitney all of Springville; Mrs. Dick (Donna) Johnson, Kansas Kan-sas City, Kan.; his mother, Mapleton; Maple-ton; seven grandchildren; 11 brothers bro-thers and sisters, Harvey Whitney, Whit-ney, Jr., Frank Whitney Ray Whitney and Delmar Whitney all of Springville; Perry Whitney of Orem; LaVon Whitney of Salt Lake City; Glen Whitney of Provo; Lovell Whitney, Glendale, Calif.; Lawrence Whitney and Mrs. Bessie Thorn of Mapleton; Mrs. Mozelle Braithwaite of Ogden. |
