Motion by Floyd Harmer, seconded sec-onded Leo Crandall, authorizing the Clerk to call for bids to purchase paint needed in the maintenance department for summer work; bids to be called for May 20, 1957; published in the three local papers, and call mailed to thirteen local dealers. Assignments to graduation exercises were made as follows: Junior High Schools Thursday, Thurs-day, May 23rd at 7:30 p.m.: Springville, Leo A. Crandall-Spanish Crandall-Spanish Fork, Richard M. Taylor Tay-lor and G. Grant Gardner; Pay-son, Pay-son, Floyd Harmer; Salem, John I. Holley and Delia Mc-Clellan; Mc-Clellan; Santaquin, William F. Broadbent; Goshen, Clarence J. Wendel. Senior High Schools Friday, May 24th at 7:30 p.m.: Springville, Spring-ville, Leo A. Crandall; Spanish Fork, Richard M. Taylor; Pay-son, Pay-son, Floyd Harmer. Motion Richard M. Crandall, approving ap-proving an appropriation be made to Kathryn Lewis to assist as-sist in expense incurred in attending at-tending the convention for the American Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation at Long Beach, California Cali-fornia April 12th through 15th, 1957. The Board of Education went on record as being not favorable to using school buses to transport trans-port student groups to recreational recrea-tional or semi-recreational activities. ac-tivities. Motion Richard M. Taylor, seconded John I. Holley that the Spanish Fork schools close on Friday, May 10, 1957 at 12:00 o'clock noon, to allow students to attend the livestock show. Motion unanimous. Superintendent Brockbank notified the Board that they had been invited to attend the dedication of the Provo High School on Friday, May 10th at 8:00 p.m. Superintendent B r o c kbank presented a letter from Jess Peterson thanking the Board for the privilege extended him of attending the convention of ttie Inland Empire Education Association at Spokane, Washington Wash-ington on April 1st to 5th and outlined some of the highlights of the convention. Motion by Richard M. Taylor, Tay-lor, seconded Floyd Harmer that the Board of Education initiate in-itiate whatever steps are necessary neces-sary to promote the sale of approximately $1,000,000 bond issue for the purpose of new building construction and purchase pur-chase of sites.
