Reynolds, D.t N.C, author of various anti-alien measures, meas-ures, urged in a radio debate with Sen. Elbert D. Thomas, D., Utah, last night that the United States close its doors to immigrants. "The time has come when the tradition that the United States is an asylum for the oppressed of the world must be changed," Robert Rob-ert said. "Our house is full. We must now give first thought to our own citizens, both native-born native-born and naturalized." . Thomas opposed Reynolds' proposed pro-posed bill requiring registration of all aliens who have not declared intentions to become citizens. Such measures, Reynolds said, and restriction of foreign "isms' groups would go far toward "saving "sav-ing America for Americans."
