Show Indian Pick former Springvillc residents, at Logan. Mr. and Mrs. J. We.stlcy Robertson Robert-son and family left the latter part of the week to make their home in Kelsey, Texas. Mr. Robertson will have charge of seminary work in that city. In their honor a number of social affairs were given by friends, relatives and church associates prior to their leaving. Mrs. Helen B. Lansing- of San 1 Francisco, Calif., is spending several sev-eral weeks in Springvillc with her aunt, Miss Caroline Blanchard and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Lois Blanchard and three little daughters of Denver, Colo., were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Best at their home here. Members of the S. T. club were delightfully entertained Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Thel-ma Thel-ma Clark. Following a dainty luncheon served at small tables with centerpieces of sweet peas, bridge was played. High score prize for the games was won by Mrs. Lee Sumsion. Twelve club members were in attendance. The next meeting is scheduled for July 22 at the home of Mrs. Emma Rowland . Mrs. Lydia Dallin and her daughter daugh-ter Mrs. Myron Bates and husband hus-band were in Springville for the dedication of the art building last Sunday. They were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Blanchard at their home here. Mrs. Blanche Beal returned last week from several days with relatives rela-tives at Cedar City. Mrs. Rca Straw and Miss Zina Singleton returned last Tuesday from a dclichtful va.eal.inn f-Hn in Crandall. Mr. Wright returned to California on Tuesday. Mrs. Alene Higginson and son Lee of Green River, Wyo., daughter daugh-ter and grandson of Mrs. Estella Wixom were her visitors at the home of Mrs. Emily Hatch recently. re-cently. Miss Gretchen Greenlee is at her home in Springvillc convalescing conval-escing from a recent appendicitis operation which she underwent in Salt Lake City. Miss Clarice Catcs of Los An- geles, Calif., and Dan Copeland j also of that city, have been visitors visi-tors at the home of Miss Cate's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cates. Miss Cates has spent the past i month here, and Mr. Copeland . two weeks. They returned this week in company with Miss Cate's sister, Mildred, who will spend two weeks in California. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bird entertained en-tertained at dinner at their home Saturday evening complimentary to Mrs. Bird's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Lois J. White of Green River, Wyo., and for Dr. and Mrs. Bill Young who arc making their home for the present pres-ent in Spanish Fork. Swectpeas centered the dining table and following dinner the time was spent with social chat and music. Miss Helen Wheeler in company with Miss Dona Gorbet of Nephi are .spending a delightful vacation vaca-tion on the west coast visiting places of interest in California, Washington and Oregon. Mrs. M. K. Morton and son Edgar, Ed-gar, of VVilke, Saskatchewan, Ca., are visiting their daughter and sinter, Mrs. Hill Blanchard and Mr. Blanchard of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Frandsen and son Don returned recently from a pleasant vacation trip to Yellowstone park. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Salisbury, former residents of this city, now living in Salt Lake City, arc spending a few days' vacation and also on a business trip in the northwest. Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Sanford, Mr. and Mrs. Orval Ence and Mrs. Caiiie Tripp and son Don returned from a recent trip to Idaho Falls, Ida., where they visited their daughter and sister, Mrs. Harry Wood and family. Members of the Ladies' Literary Liter-ary club and their partners were entertained at a canyon party at Birches' park, Saturday Satur-day evening. Hawkins and son Vern of this city were dinner guests last Sunday, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hone in Prcvo. Mr and Mrs. Charles Conover of Springville are spending the summer in California, with Mrs. Conover's sons George Murdock and Frank Gunnell and families. Mrs. George A. " Anderson entertained en-tertained a number . of friends at a garden party at her home Friday afternoon. M., Navajo Indian lass, as queen of the All-Indian celebration held in Flagstaff, Ariz. Although she wore costumes of her forefathers, Miss Silver is quite a modern, waved hair 'n everything. J. E. Hawkins and son Vern returned home recently from a 10 days' ti'ip to California. They took their daughter, Mrs. John Miner, who has been visiting- them the past California where they visited relatives rela-tives and friends. Miss Ruth Baxter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Baxter of this city returned recently from Pasadena, Pasa-dena, Calif., where she ' attended school the past year. Miss Baxter Bax-ter remained in the California city two weeks after the close of school with a special invitation to participate partici-pate in a paceant and concert at the Rose Bowl. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hanson have moved to Payson to make their home indefinitely. Mr. Hanson being employed in a drug store in that city. A social in the form of a reunion was given by Mrs. Ed Money at her home in Spanish Fork Thursday Thurs-day afternoon for a number of relatives including aunts and nieces. Kindred have just returned from a delightful de-lightful trip to Idaho, on which they accompanied their daughter daugh-ter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Webster of Solomonsville, Ariz., the latter having been visiting in Springville during the past three weeks. The group visited vis-ited Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Kindred Kin-dred and family at Idaho Falls and with Mr. and Mrs. Elma Webster at Rexburg. They also spent a short time at Yellowstone Yellow-stone park en route home. Mr. and Mrs. Webster plan to return re-turn to Arizona on Thursday. Miss Lucy Phillips has returned to her home here following a year spent at the University of Wisconsin, Wis-consin, Madison, Wis., doing graduate grad-uate work. Enroutc home she spent two weeks visiting places of interest including Washington. D. C, Norfolk, Va., Philadelphia, Pa Valley Forge, and New York, returning re-turning by way of the Catskills and southern states. Miss Phillips who is a literary critic and jour nalism instructor at Snow College, P3phraim, was given a leave oE absence from the school to contin uc her studies at the university. Mr. and Mrs. Einer Bjarnson and son David and daughter, Bessie Rae ot San Diego, Calif., are spending a short vacation here.
