I ," , l - y , f "What is m many ways the most overwhelming natural phenomenon phenom-enon in the world has been chosen for the second of the new series of stanps the government is issuing on U, S. national parks. The Grand Canyon of the Colorado is an awe-inspirinp; fissure cut from 4000 to C000 feet deep into the Colorado plateau in northern Arizona. Tt is from one lo 15 miles across at the top and extends 2S3 mile3 along the river's course. The more interesting sections, of the canyon region have been made a national park, properly of the people, to insure preservation of their matchless scenery and outdoor value. |
